Acne, acne scarring and skin aging can be a great source of psychological and emotional distress. Chester Laser Aesthetics offers a combination of treatments for these conditions – N-Lite V Laser and medical skin peels and microdermabrasion. The N-Lite V laser is a pulsed dye laser with a wavelength of 585nm and it is one of the few lasers registered by the FDA to treat all types of acne and acne scarring.

Acne
The N-Lite V laser treatment aims to reduce the number of acne outbreaks by between 50% and 80%. It is not a cure but it can reduce the severity of an outbreak and the frequency of outbreaks. Also, for approximately 80% of those treated it can clear up outbreaks at a much faster rate. The treatment can be carried out in a short appointment – easily fitted in a lunch break – and there is no problem applying make-up immediately after the treatment. There is no “down time” with this treatment.

Acne Scarring and Skin Rejuvenation
This treatment works by promoting collagen production. N-Lite V laser beam passes through the skin and ‘homes in’ on oxyhaemoglobin (the red pigment in blood). The small capillaries carrying this oxyhaemoglobin are damaged and collagen is produced in order to repair this damage. Results are normally visible within about three months.

We often advise medical skin peels and microdermabrasion alongside these laser treatments as we have observed excellent results with this combination of treatments.
